Interviews begin by appointment for the Connected Study to test whether social media improves your social well-being. If you want to learn how to use Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn you will attend a workshop right here at Plymouth Place. If interested in taking part, please sign up at reception and you will be contacted for an appointment.

Tuesday, 2/2: Lyric Opera of Chicago Lecture, Education Room 3:00pm

This month’s lecture will be on “Nabucco”. Come and enjoy a lecture by Volunteer lecturer Carla Thorpe as she discusses the history of the show and plays select pieces of the opera. The lecture precedes the performance at the Lyric Opera of Chicago this week..

Wednesday, 2/3: Hymn Sing, Albert Hall 2:00pm Sing along with your favorite Hymns led by Rita and accompanied by Ruth Koch on our beautiful Yamaha grand piano.

Thursdays, 2/4, 2/11, 1/18, 2/25: Bible Study, Greg’s Place Family Room 2:00pm Every Valley: Lent with the Scriptures of Handel’s Messiah Hear the music, read and study the Scripture behind the Passion portion of Handel’s Messiah.

Friday, 2/5: Drum Circle, Lower Level Fitness Room 9:30am

Come enjoy learning about drums from all over the world let by Rita, experience the different sounds of these wonderful instruments and become a part of our percussion band!

Friday, 2/5: Cruise to Martinique/Guadeloupe, Dole Hall 3:00pm Our cruise around the world destination this month is to Martinique Guadeloupe. Enjoy a travelogue. Residents are welcome share any stories and memorabilia you may have and bring your passport for your stamp. Enjoy a sweet treat from this country.

Village Voices returns for an afternoon of beautiful music. Plymouth Place Chorus will also perform several numbers.

Come hear original plays that feature Valentine’s and Presidents with humor.

Tuesday, 2/9: Mardi Gras Party with Tropical Sounds Steel Band, Dole Hall 3:00pm

Listen to the island sounds of a steel band. Refreshments will be served.

Join your friends for an afternoon of love songs performed by the Hunnymooners for everyone in love or remembers being in love.

Join Chaplain Carol in considering two points of view. Some say, yes, Muslims and Christians worship the one and only God. Others disagree saying Christians and Muslims have different views on the nature of God. What are the important arguments on each side and why is this question so important? Wednesday, 2/17: Seniors Decide 2016, Dole Hall 12:00pm Leading Age and the Leadership Council of Aging Organizations are sponsoring Seniors Decide 2016, the only forum where all of the presidential candidates have been invited to talk about issues that are important to older adults. The forum will be held in Arlington, VA, and streamed live throughout the country. This is a critical time in the election calendar – just before Super Tuesday, March 1, when 15 states hold their primaries. Come see what the candidates have to say about the issues related to seniors.
