Every Valley: Lent with the Scriptures of Handel’s Messiah. Hear the music, read and study the Scripture behind the Passion portion of Handel’s Messiah. On 3/3 it will be in the Education Room.

This quarterly “Transitions” program for family members to learn more about Plymouth Place, its services and topics related to caring for a loved one. Kate Spelman, Rector, All Saints Church, Western Springs, to discuss this slim but provocative book by Mark Labberton. Consider where and how we hear God calling us and what actions we can take to transform ourselves and our world into the Kingdom of God. See posted flyer for details. Saturday, 3/5: Cove Creek Brass Quintet, Dole Hall 7:15pm

The Cove Creek Brass Quintet was formed in 2010 with local brass musicians playing all types of music. Liz Moog, French horn, is resident David Rahm’s daughter. All members belong to other local band and orchestral groups.

Friday, 3/11: HealthPro Wellness Seminar, LL Fitness Room 9:30am

­­­­­­­­The therapy department begins its Healthy Living Kick Off with an interactive discussion of the benefits of improving core strength and impact on balance and posture followed by a demonstration of simple exercises that can be done at home.

Saturday, 3/12: Historian Terry Lynch, Dole Hall 7:15pm

Terry Lynch, historian presents: “Mudslinging, Mudraking and Apple Pie” telling the stories of how political campaign craziness get started. Terry tells of the muckraking of Jefferson vs. Adams in 1800, Jackson vs. Adams in 1828. Lincoln vs. Douglas of 1860, as well as Teddy Roosevelt’s 1912 campaign starting his OWN political party.

Wednesday, 3/16: Mulati Ensemble-Columbian Culture Program, Dole Hall 7:15pm

The Mulati Ensemble explores the rich musical heritage of Latin American music with folkloric influences. The performers are Columbian musicians.

Thursday, 3/17: St. Patrick’s Day Party with Irish Music, Dole Hall 3:00pm

Celebrate Irish American Month with a program featuring musician and singer Andy Young on Irish flute and dulcimer, and guitarist/singer Al Tauber.

The program is “Hats are History” narrated by Sharon Backmann feature hats worn through the decades. This collection (all originals) will give a glimpse of past fashion, models will give the audience a close up look. You are encouraged to wear a hat of your own. All Are Welcome to attend program.

Are you a caregiver for a family member who has Alzheimer’s disease or dementia? This program is designed to equip family members and others for the caregiving role. This three session class will give you a better understanding of the disease, skills to assess the person’s abilities, strategies to manage day-to-day care and how to build a positive partnership with healthcare professionals.
