Ridgewood Water Keeps Showing Improvement

The Village of Western Springs issued an update on the Ridgewood water situation on Wednesday.

Iron levels in the Ridgewood subdivision's water have continued to improve during the last 10 days, according to a Sept. 18 release from the Village of Western Springs.

The village reported improved water quality on Sept. 10.

"Staff will continue to monitor the water quality as Public Works personnel continue with the hydrant flushing through the community," the release reads.

Hydrant flushing in the area is expected to begin Sept. 26.

Village staff have reached out to Baxter & Woodman, Inc., the release states, with the intention of bringing an engineer in to "review the scenario occurring in Ridgewood to provide a more complete analysis of what is occurring and what may be the cause of the increased iron."
