Sex Offender Map 2015: Homes to Watch Around Western Springs This Halloween

Before children go trick-or-treating on Halloween, now is a good time to take inventory of who is living in your neighborhood.

Western Springs has one registered sex offender, who is also a sexual predator, according to the Illinois Sex Offender Registry.

La Grange has five registered sex offenders listed, three of whom are classified as sexual predators, and La Grange Park has three registered sex offenders, with two sexual predators.

Registered sex offenders are not allowed to pass out candy on Halloween. They may not appear in a Halloween costume or other child-centered holiday character, such as Santa or the Easter Bunny, in public. However, registered sex offenders may wear Halloween costumes in their homes, according to the Illinois Sex Offender Registry.

Flags on the map represent registered addresses of offenders convicted of sex crimes. Roll your cursor over the flags and click, and you will see more information pop up, including the registered sex offender’s name, address, current age, convictions, and the age of the offender and victim at the time of the offense.

You may want to avoid trick-or-treating at these houses and apartments on Halloween or simply be aware of who’s living in your neighborhood year-round.
