Suspicious Man In Western Springs Taken to Train: Village

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – A man deemed suspicious was seen sitting on a curb Wednesday at Forest and Ogden avenues in Western Springs, police said.

About 7:30 p.m., the man, who was wearing a construction vest, was looking around and then sat down, police said.

A neighbor called the police because her house had been broken into before, village spokeswoman Selmin Cicek said in an email to Patch.

Officers spoke with the man and gave him a ride to the train station at his request, police said. No police action was taken other than the assistance.

If police give a person a ride, they pat him down for their safety, with the person told of this beforehand, Cicek said.
