WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – The top-paid employee at Western Springs School District 101 in the 2022-23 school year was Superintendent Brian Barnhart.

Barnhart made $299,433, nearly 45 percent more than the next highest-paid employee. His pay was $290,712 a year earlier.

He has led the district for more than two decades and plans to retire in June.

The highest-paid teacher was Kelly Kruiswyk. At third on the list, she made $134,612.

The district, which has about 1,500 students, recently released its 2022-23 compensation list.
