Western Springs Cops Heighten Residential Patrols After Teen's Car is Hijacked at Gunpoint
She wasn't injured in the incident, but her Jeep is still missing.
A teenager's car was allegedly hijacked at gunpoint Thursday night while she was parked in front of her home, Western Springs police announced in a release.
The 17-year-old told police she had been sitting in her 2012 blue Jeep Grand Cherokee in the 4800 block of Fair Elms Avenue around 9:30 p.m. when two men exited a white sedan and approached her.
One man blocked the passenger's side door, she said, while one approached the driver's side. They both allegedly showed her small black handguns. The man near her door reportedly pointed the gun at her and told her to get out of the Jeep, then physically opened the car door himself pulled her out by her left arm.

The teen told police she fled on foot as soon as she got out of the car and ran to get help.
She said both men got into the Jeep and drove it north down Fair Elms Avenue, toward 47th Street. Another accomplice reportedly followed them in the white sedan.

One offender β the suspect who pointed the gun at the girl and grabbed her arm β was described by her as a white man standing at about 5-f00t-9 and wearing a ski mask and black sweatshirt. The other man was described as a black male, the same height, wearing a gray sweatshirt.
Western Springs police said in the release they will be heightening residential patrol following this incident and working with the Major Case Assistance Team to solve the case.
