Failure to reduce speed

Brynn E. Bixby, 26, was cited around 5:20 p.m. near the intersection of Ogden and Johnson avenues, Western Springs police said. While traveling westbound on Ogden, Bixby struck a car that was stopped in traffic, police said. She was charged with driving without insurance and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

Disobeying a stop sign

David N. Kokaska, 53, of the 5200 block of Lawn Avenue in Western Springs, was cited around 4:30 p.m. near the intersection of 51^st Street and Lawn Avenue, police said. Kokaska collided with a car going through the intersection because he said he didn’t realize the other driver didn’t have a stop sign, police said. He was ticketed for disobeying a stop sign.
