Western Springs Man Out $1,100 In Trading Card Scam: Cops

In another case, a bicycle was stolen in a local neighborhood.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – Western Springs police recently provided their latest blotters. Here is information from the reports:

Mail fraud

  • A resident in the 4300 block of Franklin Avenue told police Oct. 27 that he bought $1,100 in trading cards online. The seller stated he mailed the cards, but the resident did not receive them.

Theft

  • A bicycle valued at $500 was stolen between Oct. 19 and Oct. 24 from a property in the 3900 block of Gilbert Avenue.
  • Two metal lawn ornaments were reported stolen Oct. 22 in the 4300 block of Woodland Avenue. They were valued at $500.
