Western Springs Police to Host 'Buckle-Up Your Valentine' Event Promoting Car Seat Safety
Spend your Sunday before Valentine's with the WSPD.
It's never too early to make Valentine's Day plans, and this year the Western Springs Police Department is hoping you'll spend the weekend before the holiday with them.
The department is hosting its annual "Buckle-Up Your Valentine" event to promote safe car seat usage, according to a release. It's not just for the littlest ones, either β officers will be onsite to talk about seat belt safety, as well, in coordination with the statewide "Click It or Ticket" campaign.
From 9 a.m. to noon on Sunday, Feb. 12, Western Springs residents and non-residents alike will be able to talk to car seat technicians about their own child's safety and get their car seat checked and fitted. There will be one to two technicians onsite, the release states, and each check could take from 15-60 minutes. Because of this, technicians will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
