Western Springs Police Reports: Damage with BB Gun, Underage Drinking

Western Springs Police Department provided crime and arrest information through Jan. 4.

Frederick M. Brown, 26 of the 600 block of N. Lorel Avenue in Chicago, was stopped Jan. 2 for driving with an expired registration sticker at 46th Street and Wolf Road. A records check confirmed he was also driving with a suspended license.

Four teenagers were passengers in a car that was stopped Jan. 4 for speeding over posted limit at Ogden Avenue and Hampton Avenue. While the arresting officer was speaking with the driver, the officer smelled a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from inside the car. John Rohan, 18 of the 100 block of N. Prospect Avenue in Clarendon Hills, Charles Heimke, 19 of the 900 block of S. Adams Street in Hinsdale, Evan Missbrenner, 18 of the 5700 block of S. Thurlow Street in Hinsdale and John Mulligan, 19 of the 800 block of Bruner Street in Hinsdale had been drinking earlier and were each issued a local ordinance citation for consumption of alcohol by a minor. Rohan was also found in possession of an item used for drug paraphernalia and was issued a local ordinance citation for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Someone intentionally damaged the rear window of a car that was parked on a residential driveway in the 4100 block of Gilbert Avenue sometime between 5 p.m. Dec. 26 and 8:30 a.m. Dec. 27. It appeared the window was damaged with a projectile consistent with a BB gun. There were no items disturbed or missing from the interior of the car.

Someone intentionally damaged an exterior window located on the third floor on the east side of a residence in the 4500 block of Clausen Avenue sometime during the overnight hours between Dec. 23 and 24. The window was damaged with a projectile consistent with a BB-type gun. The replacement cost of the window was estimated to be about $800.

Someone intentionally damaged the rear window of a car that was parked on a residential driveway in the 4500 block of Harvey Avenue sometime between 5 p.m. Dec. 24 and 8 a.m. Dec. 25. There were no items disturbed or missing from inside the car.

Someone used someone’s personal identification information to obtain two fraudulent credit card accounts. The crimes were committed during an undetermined time frame.

Someone caused damage and knocked over a public street sign and post in the 5900 block of Red Oak Drive. The incident occurred sometime between 11 p.m. Jan. 3 and 1:35 a.m. Jan. 4.
