For a second year, the village topped the chart. In all, 10 Illinois towns made the list.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – A new study rates Western Springs as the richest and safest town in the United States.

For the second year, GoBankingRates ranked the top 50 richest and safest towns in the nation. Western Springs topped the list both times.

Hinsdale (16th), Elmhurst (34th) and La Grange (38th) were among the Illinois towns in the top 50.

Illinois and Massachusetts both had 10 towns on the list. No state had more.

No towns in New York or Florida made the rankings. California and Texas each had two.
