Western Springs Road Project Set For Summer

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – Western Springs will resurface Hampton Avenue from Ogden to Hillgrove avenues this summer, according to a village memo last week.

The project is estimated to cost nearly $1.2 million.

The work is being scheduled around the school year at Laidlaw Elementary School. So the project is expected to last from June to August.

The contractor is Westmont-based K-5 Construction.

On the east side of Grand Avenue, the village plans to install a continuous sidewalk between 51st and 55th streets, with the work being bid out later this month.

The village hopes to start the project in June after the school year has ended.

Parts of the east side are without a sidewalk.

The village said the project is paid for by a $190,000 federal grant that is being funneled through Cook County.
