WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – For more than 40 years, Bob Nyberg and his family have called Western Springs home. He began a career with the investment company, Edward Jones on Hillgrove over four decades ago. Bob immediately began planting roots deep in the community. He joined many community service organizations including Western Springs Rotary.

On Tuesday, Western Springs Rotary thanked Bob for his many years of service to the Club. β€œBob has served as a role model for all of us. For the many years he has been a member of the club, he has provided leadership, guidance, direction and quiet inspiration to all of us,” said Grant Dixon, current President of the Western Springs Rotary Club. The club presented Bob with an engraved watch bearing the Rotary logo and several other gifts. β€œWe are honored to recognize Bob in this small way and say thank you for his many years of service to our club and the community,” Grant said.

The Nyberg legacy will continue for many decades thanks to his support of the new Western Springs Rotary Pickleball Center. Grant continued, β€œBob was the inspiration and a key supporter of this project. Without his hard work, the project would have never happened.” The pickleball center will be located in the northwest corner of Spring Rock Park and is set to open in August.

β€œWe are all sad to see Bob leave our community. It’s a big loss for us but we all know he will continue to live out his good works in his retirement years. Bob has always lived out the Rotary motto of service above self and I know he will continue to live that out in his new community,” Grant concluded.
