Western Springs To See Anti-Trump Human Chain

The idea is to protest Trump's "illegal and authoritarian actions."

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – Progressive organizations are planning to form a 30-mile "human chain of solidarity" that includes Ogden Avenue in Western Springs

The event is set for noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, May 18.

The human chain, called "Hands Across Chicagoland," is designed to protest President Donald Trump's "illegal and authoritarian actions" and Republicans' "failure to defend the Constitution," according to a statement from the DuPage County Democratic Party.

The human chain will extend from Aurora to Chicago's Little Village.

Organizers say demonstrators will peacefully line the sidewalk and not block streets or businesses along the route. They are encouraged to wear black and hold homemade signs.

People will receive their location along the route by entering their zip code on the event's website, according to the news release.

Organizers expect more than 10,000 people to take part. One person will stand every 10 to 15 feet of the route, they said.
