A "London lad living in Chicago" has presented the proposal to the village.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – A wine shop is planned for downtown Western Springs, bringing brands from around the world.
According to village records, Western Springs Cellar is set for 820 Hillgrove Ave. The village said the space is now vacant and was formerly occupied by Dixon Realtors.
Earlier this month, a village committee approved a liquor license. Next, the police are set to conduct a background check. Then the matter goes to the Village Board for a vote.

According to Western Springs Cellar's business plan, the shop would offer its "taste to buy" service through Napa Technologies machines that will offer one-, three- or five-ounce pours of about a dozen different wines.
The wines will come from many places, including France, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Greece, Chile and California, according to the plan.
The shop is set to be open every day except Monday.
