2 Boys Face Felonies After Wheaton Warrenville South Fight
Two boys face charges in connection with a fight that took place in a bathroom at Wheaton Warrenville South High School Feb. 28.

WHEATON, IL — Two boys face charges of felony aggravated battery on a public property in the wake of a fight that took place at Wheaton Warrenville South High School in late February.
According to police, the school's resource officer called 911 around 11:43 a.m. on Feb. 28 after having been "alerted to a potential medical emergency involving a male student in the building’s commons area."
Police say the resource officer had been told the student had been in "an alleged physical altercation" with at least one other boy. The resource officer called paramedics and school nurses assisted the boy, according to a news release from the Wheaton Police Department.

The students were set to appear in juvenile court Thursday. Police say they "have not returned to school."
"We cannot comment on student discipline matters," a spokesperson for District 200 said Thursday afternoon after Patch inquired whether the students had been suspended or expelled.
"The life, health, and safety of the students in our schools remain a top priority," Wheaton Police Chief Princeton J. Youker said in a statement.
He added, "The Wheaton Police Department supports criminal charges for any individuals who commit acts of violence in our community to hold them accountable."
