Wheaton-Owned Company To Serve Sips, Snacks At College Avenue Metra Station

The College Avenue Metra station is set to get its first food and beverage service since the pandemic.

WHEATON, IL — The Wheaton City Council recently approved an agreement that will bring coffee and snack concessions back to the College Avenue Metra station. This marks the first time a food and beverage service will be available at the station since the pandemic.

The council had sent out a request for proposals for a concessionaire service in October. Wheaton resident Matthew Sharp, responded to the proposal request on behalf of his company, Platform Coffee, LLC.

At the Dec. 15 Wheaton City Council meeting, members voted unanimously in favor of Sharp's proposal, which calls for a $600 concession fee to be paid each month. According to city documents, this is equal to the fee currently paid by Java Connection, which serves concessions at the Main Street Metra station.
