Applications Open For Wheaton's Shared Cost Parkway Tree Program
Residents have through Feb. 28 to take part in the city's shared cost parkway tree planting program.
WHEATON, IL — Applications have opened for Wheaton's 2025 Shared Cost Parkway Tree Planting Program. The city plans to help fund the planting of as many as 200 trees, with beneficiaries chosen on a first come, first served basis.
For $95, residents can choose from a dozen species of trees via the shared cost program. The species are listed below.
- Catalpa
- Honey locust
- Hybrid elm
- Japanese tree lilac
- Kentucky coffee tree
- Linden
- Pink crabapple
- Red oak
- Service berry
- State street maple
- Sugar maple
- Swamp white oak
Crew members from Wheaton's Forestry Division will begin planting the parkway trees come springtime.
