The City of Wheaton received formal notice from Roundy’s Supermarkets Inc., parent company of Mariano’s, that they are withdrawing their zoning application to add a gasoline station at the northwest corner of Roosevelt Road and Main Street. We are providing this update because of the significant amount of community feedback that the City and the Planning and Zoning Board received at an initial public hearing about the proposed project.

Background
The Mariano’s grocery store at Roosevelt Road and Naperville Road currently includes an employee parking lot at the northwest corner of Roosevelt and Main Street. Roundy’s Supermarkets recently submitted an zoning application to the City to allow the company to construct a gasoline station in lieu of the existing Mariano’s employee parking lot.
