Detours To Take Effect For Rail Repairs On Cross Street

WHEATON, IL — Detours are expected to begin July 17 as work to repair a rail defect takes place near the Metra crossing on Cross Street.

The following detours will be in effect between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., per an update from the City of Wheaton.

Northbound on Cross Street

Take Liberty Drive west to Main Street. Turn right on Main Street, then head east on Front Street. From Front Street, turn left at Cross Street to resume a northbound route.

South bound on Cross Street

Take Wesley Street west to Main Street. Turn left on Main Street, then head east to Liberty Drive. From Liberty Drive, turn right at Cross Street to resume a southbound route.

It's expected the road work will be underway through July 21 at 5 pm.
