The Wheaton Community Unit School District 200 Board of Education will vote on the resolution at its Dec. 10 meeting.
WHEATON, IL — Wheaton Community Unit School District 200 will vote Wednesday on a proposed 2.53 percent property tax levy increase for 2025. The levy was recommended after it was presented to the Board of Education and discussed by the board's finance committee at the Nov. 12 meeting.
According to board documents, the levy comprises a 3.81 percent increase is the balance of the district's operational levy and a decrease in its bond and interest levy. The request was "developed to capture all potential new equalized assessed valuation (EAV) growth," per board documents.
The proposed levy does not exceed 105 percent of last year's aggregate extension, which means no public hearing is needed prior to a vote. In 2024, the levy's aggregate extension was $174,398,419.65. For 2025, the proposed levy's aggregate extension is $181,047,330.
