GLENDALE HEIGHTS, IL — A Glendale Heights man has been convicted in the 2021 sexual assault of a 92-year-old woman after breaking into her Addison home. A jury found Anthony Lane guilty of aggravated criminal sexual assault and home invasion following a three-day trial.

Police were called to the 2200 block of Century Point Lane on Nov. 22, 2021, after the woman reported the incident via 911. Prosecutors say the woman arrived home from dialysis treatment and found Lane standing in the doorway of her home's garage.

Lane was accused of binding the woman's hands with duct tape, carrying her to the second floor of the home and sexually assaulting her before fleeing.

Berlin added, “The level of depravity exhibited by Mr. Lane is extraordinarily disturbing. With the jury’s guilty verdict, he now faces one hundred twenty years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. I thank the jury in this very upsetting case for their service as well as Judge Ann Celine O’Hallaren Walsh for ensuring a fair trial for both sides."
