DuPage Board Member Beats DUI Charge
Paul Grant Eckhoff of Wheaton celebrated after the not-guilty verdict.

“I wasn’t drunk. I was innocent,” crowed DuPage County Board member Paul Grant Eckhoff after a judge found him not guilty of DUI Wednesday. Eckhoff was arrested in March 2015 in the driveway of his Wheaton home after an officer tried to pull him over for a burned-out tail light. The 56-year-old Republican kept driving his Prius and ignored the police lights. The judge found him guilty of failing to yield to an emergency vehicle.
The city of Wheaton hired a special prosecutor to press the case against Eckhoff.
