DuPage Care Center Named Among Best By U.S. News & World Report

WHEATON, IL — DuPage Care Center recently made U.S. News & World Report's roundup of the 2024 Best Nursing Homes in the U.S.

The publication evaluated over 15,000 nursing homes, ranking each on:

• Resident care
• Safety
• Quality
• Staffing

DuPage Care Center was ranked as high-performing for both long-term care and short-term rehabilitation. The facility had a zero percent fall rate and a rate of just 1.4 percent of residents that were taken to the emergency room, per U.S. News & World Report's Findings.

In the long-term care category, DuPage Care Center ranked well for resident flu vaccines (99.9 percent) and the ability of residents to perform self-care (90.4 percent). Staffing also helped wih the care center's high ranking, with 99.7 percent of days having nurses on staff for at least eight hours.

"We've known about the exceptional care and compassion provided to residents at the Care Center for years, and we are grateful to be recognized nationally and continue to spread the word about the exemplary services provided at the Center," Human Services Committee Chairman Greg Schwarze said in a statement. "Coupled with our ongoing renovations to improve resident rooms and common areas, we know this facility will continue to be a gold standard across the state and nation for years to come."

In October, DuPage Care Center was recognized by Newsweek among the Best Nursing Homes in Illinois.
