'Extensive' Delays Expected On UPW Metra Line After Freight Train Hits Car
The crash took place Monday afternoon in Wheaton.

WHEATON, IL — "Extensive delays" are expected to both inbound and outbound trains on the Metra Union Pacific West (UPW) line after a freight train hit a car near Wheaton Monday afternoon, per an update from Metra. The train was stopped near West Chicago in the wake of the crash.
No serious injuries were reported, according to the City of Wheaton. In Wheaton, the Washington Street crossing is the only one that remains open. Drivers are advised to cross the railroad tracks via Washington Street, Manchester Road and Bridge Street or in Glen Ellyn.
