Frosty Fest, Live Music, More: Holiday Happenings In Wheaton

December brings a host of holiday activities to Wheaton.

WHEATON, IL — Thanksgiving came later than usual this year, which means Wheaton is one of many local towns that feature a slew of festive holiday events come December.

The city's tree lighting ceremony will herald the start of the season on Nov. 29. After that, residents can delve into small business Saturday, share their wishes with Santa and admire the festively decorated widows downtown.

Dec. 6

Pizza with Santa

5:30 p.m. at Wheaton Park District Community Center

Santa Claus will stop by the Community Center to enjoy pizza with kids and their families. Visitors can make holiday-themed crafts and take pics with Old St. Nick.

The cost is $20 for residents and $25 for nonresidents.

Silvertones Present Christmas on Stage and Screen

2 p.m. at Wheaton Park District Community Center Memorial Room

Singers will perform beloved holiday songs that have been featured in movies and musicals. Admission is $8. Click the link to buy tickets.

Dec. 12

Santa's Workshop

9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Toohey Park Building

Kids can come to the workshop and use the crafts, tools and supplies on hand to make their own presents for the holiday. The fee is $36 for residents and $45 for nonresidents.

Dec. 14

Frosty Fest

10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Town Square Wheaton

Head to Town Square Wheaton to visit Elsa and Olaf from Frozen. Santa Claus will also be on hand to pose for photos and hear children's holiday wishes. The event also features carolers and free hot cocoa, in addition to other festive activities.

Some holiday events in Wheaton will be available throughout December.

Letters to Santa

A mailbox will be set up at the W Tent to accept letters to Santa Claus Nov. 30 through Dec. 21. Kids can pen their own letters or download and print a template.

Night of Lights

Adams Park will be lit up with thousands of bulbs for the 2024 Night of Lights, which runs through Jan. 5.

Cosley Zoo Festival of Lights and Tree Sale

Cosley Zoo will be aglow with holiday lights displays and hundreds of pine trees for the 2024 Cosley Zoo Festival of Lights and Tree Sale.

Light Up Wheaton

The Wheaton Park District's 5th Annual Light Up Wheaton contest is underway, with Dec. 12 set as the deadline to register. Winning homes and businesses $100 worth of gift cards that can be redeemed at shops and restaurants in the city.
