Glen Ellyn District 41 Board Members to Vote on All-Day Kindergarten
The next meeting of the Glen Ellyn District 41 board of education is Feb. 23

Residents in Glen Ellyn School District 41 have weighed in on all-day kindergarten. Staff members have given feedback. And, after the board meeting on Monday, board members have also discussed the issue at length. But, they haven’t yet voted.
“The administration believes in full-day kindergarten,” The Chicago Tribune reports Superintendent Paul Gordon said at the board meeting on Monday.
The board has to evaluate two things when deciding whether to implement all-day kindergarten - space and financial constraints.

“The biggest take away from the two listening sessions that we held this past week is that our community expressed that they believe we need to do something about the space problems in our school buildings across the district,” Superintendent Paul Gordon in an interview with Patch last week. “Until we have resolved our space issues, we cannot implement full-day kindergarten.
The board meets at 7:30 p.m., Feb. 23 at Hadley Junior High School, 240 Hawthorne Boulevard, Glen Ellyn.
