How To Recycle Christmas Trees In Wheaton

Wheaton residents can get their Christmas trees picked up for recycling through Jan. 10.

WHEATON, IL — With Christmas 2024 in the rearview mirror, residents in Wheaton can start thinking about unloading their holiday trees.

Christmas tree pickup started Thursday, with no stickers required. To make sure your tree is eligible for pickup:

  • Remove lights, tinsel, garland and other decorations
  • Do not put trees in plastic bags
  • Bring tree to curb before scheduled refuse collection

Residents can get their trees picked up for recycling through Jan. 10. After that, trees will still be picked up, but will require trash stickers to ensure collection.

Holiday lights recycling will be available in Wheaton through Jan. 17.
