Hundreds Without Power Amid High Winds, Storms In Wheaton
As of 8:30 p.m. nearly 500 households were without power in Wheaton, according to ComEd.
WHEATON, IL — Close to 500 households in Wheaton were without power Wednesday as high winds and storms swept through the area.
According to ComEd's outage map, 483 customers in Wheaton had lost power as of 7:42 p.m. The likely cause was listed as downed wires.
Crews were being scheduled to repair the issue, which appeared to be concentrated in the area just south of DuPage County courthouse. Power was expected to be restored to those affected customers as of 9:45 p.m.

Throughout Illinois, there were 8,279 customers with outages as of 9 p.m., ComEd's outage map showed.
High wind warnings were in effect in DuPage, Kane, Kendall, McHenry, Cook, Grundy and Will counties until 9 a.m. Thursday. Winds were expected to reach speeds of up to 65 mph.
