'Large Police Presence' In Wheaton Neighborhood: Authorities

The "active incident" was over by 8:20 p.m., authorities said in an update Sunday evening, adding most police were leaving the area.

WHEATON, IL — Authorities warned Wheaton residents Sunday evening of a "large police presence" in the 1000 block of Gary Court, saying police were "responding to an incident in this area," according to a Facebook post from the city, published shortly after 6 p.m.

"There is no threat to the public," the post said. "We are providing this notice so residents are not alarmed by the police presence."
