Masked ICE Agents Arrested Over A Dozen People In West Chicago, Villa Says
State Sen. Karina Villa said at a news conference that the individuals were taken from grocery stores, homes and while walking outside.

WEST CHICAGO, IL — ICE agents took more than a dozen people into custody, including a minor, Monday morning, according to Illinois State Senator Karina Villa.
Villa, who represents the state's 25th district, held a news conference Monday, saying, "masked individuals dispersed into our community here in West Chicago and Aurora."
Villa said, "these masked individuals came upon people with the color of my skin, and picked them up.

"One was at a grocery store, an apartment complex and someone simply walking on the side of the street. We are here to show our solidarity and commitment to our people," she added.
Villa was streaming live on Facebook at Route 59 and Forest Avenue Monday morning after receiving reports of ICE activity. In the livestream, she cautioned residents, "Stay inside of your house, do not answer the door unless there is a warrant."

Villa encouraged "allies" to come out of their homes with cameras to photograph and record ICE activity.
A video circulating on social media appears to show Villa following ICE agents through a neighborhood. In the video, she shouts, "This is MY city. That's right." In the video, it appears Villa approaches an SUV filled with ICE agents and shouts, "Take off your masks."
Monday's arrests come amid increased ICE activity in and around Chicago as part of Trump's "Operation Midway Blitz." Illinois is a sanctuary state.
