DUPAGE COUNTY — DuPage County recently announced plans for a multi-million dollar project to revitalize roads, reconstruct bridges and improve trails and bike paths over the next five years. The Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) aims to "reduce congestion, ensure the state of good repair of our capital facilities, and improve the overall mobility for residents, workers, and visitors in DuPage County," DuPage County Transportation Committee Chair Mary FitzGerald Ozog said in a statement.

The TIP will begin in 2025 with the following projects:

  • Rebuilding the bridge on Geneva Road over the DuPage River's west branch
  • Rebuilding the bridge on Warrenville Road over the DuPage River's east branch
  • Rebuilding part of York Road between Devon Avenue and Irving Park Road
  • Countywide road resurfacing and ADA ramp repairs

From 2026 through 2029, the TIP will help fund the construction of a new highway maintenance building for the DuPage County Division of Transportation (DuDOT), along with $60 million in lighting and highway maintenance and stormwater drainage improvments throughout the county.
