New Program To Help Residents Deal With Yard Flooding In Wheaton
The new program will partially reimburse Wheaton residents who hire a contractor to install a storm sewer in their yards.

WHEATON, IL — The City of Wheaton has launched a new program to help residents address problems related to yard flooding. Approved residents can get a reimbursement of up to 50 percent (up to $5,000) for hiring a contractor to install a storm sewer into their yard that will connect to Wheaton's storm sewer system.
Residents have until Feb. 1 to submit an application for the yard flooding program. Applications will be evaluated on several criteria, including:
- Depth of area served by storm sewer
- Number of nearby properties the storm sewer would benefit
Wheaton officials plan to approve as many grants as its $50,000 annual budget will allow, a news release said.
