How do you know the teacher?

I am her husband and I have seen the sacrifices, passion, connection and dedication she has for her service as a teacher to her students and parents.

What does this person teach?

3rd Grade Elementary

Why do you believe the teacher should be recognized or honored?

Norma has a passion for her work and dedication that is exemplary. She not only spends countless hours beyond the regular school day, but builds personal connections with the students and their parents. She has proven time and time again that teachers make a difference, and their impact is far-reaching. Norma has dedicated herself to children since beginning her volunteering activities as a Sunday School teacher while in High School. She adopted four children, finished her Masters while raising six kids and has made a tremendous impact. She even spearheaded an inner-city and multi-regional children's summer camp for underprivileged families, with 300+ children attending.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the teacher?

She is the most selfless and cheerful "giver" that I know, and recognizing this would be a great honor to her, because she would never try and take the credit for herself.
