Pool Safety Grants Aim To Offer Free Swim Lessons For DuPage Co. Kids

DUPAGE COUNTY — The DuPage County Health Department recently announced that it plans to give grants of up to $4,500 to local pools to help provide swim lessons for young children.
Part of the nationwide Pool Safety Grant Program, the 2024 Protect Swimmers 10M grants will benefit up to five facilities for the purpose of working to prevent childhood drowning. The free swim lessons focus on children who are between three and five years old.
Eligible facilities must have a pool and may include schools, community organizations, parks, rec centers, health centers and residential complexes. The deadline to apply for a pool safety grant is April 12 at 11:59 p.m.
