Road Closures Expected For Next Phase Of Gary Avenue Project

The road work will start on March 16 and is expected to last into summer.

WHEATON, IL — Commuters can expect road closures on Gary Avenue as crews resume work on the Gary Avenue Reconstruction Project.

Set to start March 16, this phase of work will include major improvements near to Prairie Avenue Intersection, including the addition of a traffic signal and turning lane. A crosswalk will also be added to accommodate pedestrians.

Additional upgrades include widening the roadway and installing storm sewers.

Detours will be in effect for residents who live near the project site. This phase of work is expected to last into summer, with the aim to wrap the project by fall.
