Students' 'Senior Assassin' Game Prompts Warning From Wheaton-Area PD

Police are encouraging parents to have "open and honest conversations with their children about the safety concerns" about the game.

WHEATON, IL — Wheaton and Warrenville police are urging parents to talk to their children about the safety concerns linked to a recent "Senior Assassin" water gun game trend.

According to police, the game, which is played by students throughout the nation, involves students with squirt guns who hide out and chase each other, with the objective of squirting water at other students. Police say the game, which lasts several weeks, has garnered attention on Instagram and TikTok.

Community Unit School District 200 shared that they do not allow "Senior Assassin" to be played on their school grounds or at events that are sponsored by the district.

Both the Wheaton and Warrenville Police Departments shared in a joint news release that they "do not condone this activity and would like for our communities to be aware of safety concerns related to this game."

"This includes the potential for community members to become alarmed if they believe there is an individual armed with a weapon; game participants interfering with traffic and putting themselves and/or others' safety at risk; and other unintentional consequences," the news release said.

Police say parents should talk to their children about "potential misunderstandings" and warn that the game could be "easily be misinterpreted in public as a real threat."
