Tornado Warning Issued For Northwestern DuPage County
Residents are advised to take cover, as tornadic weather is expected near DuPage County Fairgrounds, Wheaton College and nearby.
WHEATON, IL — A tornado warning has been issued for northwestern DuPage County until 7:30 p.m. Monday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). Residents are advised to take cover from the storm, which is expected to be near Bartlett and DuPage Airport.

Other areas in the storm's path include Carol Stream, Hanover Park, Bloomingdale, Winfield, Glendale Heights, Wheaton, Glen Ellyn, Roselle, Addison, Itasca, Downers Grove and Lombard.

DuPage County Fairgrounds and Wheaton College are also in the path of the storm, the National Weather Service said.
A confirmed tornado was located near Hampshire, Illinois, just before 5:30 p.m., the National Weather Service said. A confirmed tornado was also reported near Paw Paw, Illinois, at 6:06 p.m.

A severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Valley View, near St. Charles, at 6:24 p.m., according to the weather service.
The National Weather service has issued a tornado watch until 10 p.m. for Boone, Bureau, Cook, DeKalb, DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kankakee, Kendall, Lake, La Salle, Lee, McHenry, Ogle, Putnam, Will and Winnebago counties.
Severe storms are possible across northern Illinois and northwest Indiana, the weather service said. There is an area-wide threat for damaging winds, large hail and a couple tornadoes.
Storms are most likely between 4 and 8 p.m. primarily north of the Illinois and Kankakee rivers, according to the weather service.

Locally heavy rainfall and flooding will also be possible late Monday and overnight. The weather service advised having multiple ways to receive weather warnings.
Periodic thunderstorms are expected through Thursday, and strong to severe storms are possible again late Tuesday or Tuesday night, according to the weather service. Warm and humid weather will also continue through Thursday, with dangerous heat index values over 100 degrees expected on Tuesday.
