Wheaton's New Boutique Bella Roba Now Open Downtown

Bella Roba opened earlier this week in downtown Wheaton. The boutique is planning a grand opening event next month.

A new boutique offering beautiful things, whether for home or for wear, has opened its doors in downtown Wheaton.

Bella Roba, a high-style boutique, is now open at 104 N. Hale St. The shop opened its doors to customers on June 24.

Meaning “beautiful things” in Italian, Bella Roba offers shoppers a variety of items to choose from including clothing, jewelry, art, antiques and decor.

Owner, Stacy Jansen went to school for design and has a bachelor’s degree in fine arts. She didn’t want to work in the interior design field and began to make jewelry. People liked her jewelry and began to encourage her to open a store.

“It’s kind of like a high style bazaar with an eclectic mix of clothing, jewelry, antiques, décor and found items,” Jansen told Patch in May.

Jansen is hopeful the boutique will become a destination for shoppers and an anchor for the downtown shopping community, she said.

The store has been updated inside and out, with an updated facade and new awnings, in-keeping with a French design feel. As part of her renovations, Jansen restored the original maple floors, tin ceiling and brick walls. The boutique was meant to have an old-world French feel.

A grand opening is planned for July 12 and 13.
