Yard Waste, Food Scrap Collection Resumes For 2024 Season In Wheaton

Yard waste and food scrap collections are set to resume in Wheaton for the 2024 season.

WHEATON, IL — The weather is warming up (eventually), which means Wheaton residents can start getting their yard waste and food scraps ready to be picked up by the village. The 2024 Yard Waste Collection will resume April 1.

Here are the guidelines for yard waste and food scrap collection in Wheaton:

  • Place a yard waste sticker on every container, bag or stack of yard waste
  • Put yard waste in biodegradable paper bags or containers that are no larger than 35 gallons
  • Filled containers and bags should not weigh more than 50 pounds
  • Branches and brush can be placed in stacks that are 18 inches or fewer in diameter and four feet or fewer in length

Yard waste and food scraps will be collected on resident's normal trash pickup day.
