Annual Wilmette Fire Department Open House Scheduled For Next Weekend

The public is invited to the event from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Wilmette Station 26.

WILMETTE, IL — For those looking to learn more about the Wilmette Fire Department in a fun, family-friendly environment, the annual fire department open house will take place next Saturday.

From 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Oct. 4 the community is invited to watch dive team, technical rescue team and vehicle extrication demonstrations. Kids will get to get an up-close look at fire trucks and other department vehicles.

Attendees will also get to meet department mascot Sparky the Fire Dog and get their beloved stuffed friends a special checkup from trained paramedics.

"Please join us Saturday October 4th for our annual open house!" department officials said.

Festivities will kick off at Fire Station #26 at 1304 Lake Ave.
