KENILWORTH, IL —As Friday’s winter storm has moved into the greater Chicago area, local schools are government agencies have announced that offices will not be open – including Kenilworth Village Hall.

Village officials announced on Friday that they had decided to close village offices due to inclement weather conditions. The village anticipates re-opening offices on Monday on Monday when many people will be off work for the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.

Village staff will be checking emails and voicemails periodically throughout the day, officials said. If residents need to contact the village, they can do so by either calling (847) 251-1666 or by email at info@vok.org. Staff members are asking residents to be patient or to wait until Monday when traffic conditions are safer.

Weather forecasters are predicting that the greater Chicago area could see between 8-14 inches of snow Friday into Saturday. Winds of between 40-50 mph. will cause snow to blow and drift, forecasters said, which will make road conditions treacherous for local drivers.
