Curbside Leaf Collection Suspended Due To Heavy Snow
Over the next several weeks, the village will be focused on clearing leaves and ice already in the streets.

WILMETTE, IL — Curbside leaf collection is suspended this week in Wilmette due to heavy snowstorms that hit the region over the weekend.
On Saturday, Illinois recorded its snowiest November day in history, according to the National Weather Service. With more snow anticipated in the coming days and sustained cold temperatures, the village is focusing its efforts on leaves already in the streets and ice removal.
Over the next several weeks, leaf collection crews will be doing a pass of the entire community to collect any residual leaves already in the streets. The process, however, is expected to move slowly due to snow accumulation and frozen conditions.

"The Village will attempt to resume curbside leaf collection in the coming weeks; however, we are unable to guarantee when another pass through the Village may be completed as this is dependent on weather conditions, including snowfall and temperatures," village officials said.
The village asks that residents not bring additional leaves to the street or curb.

While parking restrictions associated with leaf collection have been lifted, there are parking restrictions during snow removal operations.
"The Village appreciates the public's understanding and patience regarding this necessary suspension and extends its thanks to our Public Works crews for all their efforts," Wilmette officials said in a statement.
