Much-Anticipated Wilmette Block Party Returns For 4th Year

Coming up the weekend after Labor Day weekend, this year's festivities are scheduled to run from noon to 10 p.m.

WILMETTE, IL — The Wilmette Block Party, the much-anticipated new annual tradition launched in 2021 as part of the village's sesquicentennial celebration, is almost here.

Organized by the Wilmette Park District in partnership with the village and the Wilmette/Kenilworth Chamber of Commerce, this year's festivities are scheduled to run from noon to 10 p.m. on Sept. 6 in the Downtown Wilmette.

Bringing together families, friends and neighbors on the Saturday after Labor Day, the party promises music, food, drinks and all-ages activities during a day of fun and community.

The festivities will take place on Wilmette and Central Avenues as well as the Village Green, with representatives of local businesses hoping that it will bring increased traffic to shops and restaurants.

The event also offers opportunities for local businesses and residents to get involved through sponsorship, donations or volunteering, incentives for which include a custom volunteer shirt, a special gift and a pair of drink tickets for those over 21.
