New Trier Alum Headed to Hollywood For Prestigious Hollywood Internship

A former New Trier High School student is headed to Hollywood this summer as part of the Television Academy Foundation Internship program.

WILMETTE, IL — A New Trier High School Alum is headed to Hollywood after being selected for the Television Academy Foundation Internship program.

Caer Parkhill, a college student who attended NTHS in Winnetka, is just one of 40 students chosen by the Television Academy from across the country for this year's summer internship program. Through the internship, the foundation offers paid positions at top Hollywood studios and production companies.

Parkhill currently attends Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta, Georgia, majoring in visual effects. This summer, they'll be interning at Barnstorm VFX in Los Angeles.

“I feel incredibly honored to have been chosen by the Television Academy members for this internship,” Parkhill said. “The Emmys are very prestigious awards, chosen by people who view and comb through an immense amount of media. To be chosen by that same group is very moving, and I’m extremely excited for the opportunity that they have given me."

The Television Academy Foundation aims to shape the art of creating television by engaging and educating the next generation of television professionals. The Internship program provides over 50 students from across the nation with hands-on work experience in more than 30 disciplines.

"I have great memories associated with television and would love to get to work on creating the shows that have brought me so much joy," Parkhill said.
