Parolee Arrested, Suspected Of 2 Burglaries In Wilmette

Law enforcement arrested a suspect believed to have committed two burglaries in Wilmette.

WILMETTE, IL — A Chicago parolee suspected of two separate burglaries in Wilmette was arrested Tuesday, according to police.

On Feb. 26, the Wilmette Police Department responded to a report of a burglary in the 500 block of 4th Street and a residential burglary in the 600 block of 5th Street.

Detectives investigating both incidents identified 45-year-old Maurice Wade as the possible suspect. According to investigators, Wade was on parole with the Illinois Department of Corrections for a prior burglary conviction.

"Wilmette Investigators were able to obtain felony warrants for burglary and residential burglary and IDOC issued a parole violation warrant for the subject," officials said in a statement.

On Tuesday, the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested Wade in Chicago. Wade remains in custody pending a court appearance, officials said.
