Sip, Shop, and Support Evanston’s Older Adults

NSSC invites community residents to get a start on holiday shopping at Ten Thousand Villages on Tuesday, November 19 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Join North Shore Senior Center (NSSC) staff and volunteers on Tuesday, November 19 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Ten Thousand Villages Evanston for a sip and shop event. Ten Thousand Villages is located at 1509 Chicago Ave, Evanston.

Find unique gifts for everyone on your holiday list including handmade, ethically sourced gifts, clothing, and housewares. Enjoy a glass of wine, delicious nibbles, and the knowledge that your purchase is supporting older adults in your community. No registration is required and there is no fee to attend.

From November 19 to 21, 15% of all purchases will go directly to North Shore Senior Center when customers mention NSSC at checkout, both in store and online. Ten Thousand Villages creates opportunities for artisans in developing countries to earn income by bringing their products and stories to markets through long-term, fair-trading relationships. Holiday shopping will have double the impact: helping local families served by NSSC, as well as supporting artisans from around the world.
