Evanston man charged with drunk driving, Skokie resident accused of drug dealing: Wilmette-Kenilworth Police Blotter

WILMETTE, IL — The following information comes from the Wilmette and Kenilworth police departments and court records as a record of police activity and incidents reported to the police. Criminal charges merely represent accusations by the state, and county prosecutors often choose to drop or reduce them. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Anyone arrested is innocent unless later proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

INCIDENTS
CAR BURGLARIES
- An officer saw people near a parked vehicle in the 700 block of Lavergne Avenue around 3:30 a.m. on Dec. 23. They group of people fled in a white Volkswagen sedan without taking anything from an unlocked Jaguar, police reported.
- A resident in the 700 block of Lawler Avenue reported on Dec. 23 that their unlocked Acura was burglarized and items had been taken.
- A resident in the 800 block of Lawler Avenue reported on Dec. 23 that their unlocked Lexus was burglarized overnight and items were taken.
- A resident in the 3300 block of Wilmette Avenue reported on Dec. 24 that their unlocked Toyota was burglarized and items were taken.
- A resident in the 800 block of Romona Road reported on Jan. 2 that their Ford SUV's driver window was broken, but nothing was taken.
- A resident in the 200 block of 17th Street reported on Jan. 2 that their Audi’s driver window was broken, and items were stolen.
- A car in the 3200 block of Lake Avenue was found with the rear passenger side window smashed and items taken on Jan. 3.
SHOPLIFTING

- A male shoplifter stole liquor from an unspecified business in the 400 block of Green Bay Road around 1:40 p.m. on Dec. 26.
- Two shoplifters stole liquor from an unspecified business in the 3200 block of Lake Avenue on Jan. 5.
PACKAGE THEFTS
- A caller reported seeing someone they believed to be taking packages from a porch near Central Avenue and 4th Street around 10 a.m. on Dec. 28.
- A masked man stole two recently delivered packages from a porch in the 400 block of Greenleaf Avenue shortly after 10 a.m .on Dec. 28.
- A resident in the 900 block of Central Avenue reported on Dec. 28 that a package was stolen from their porch.
- A resident in the 500 block of Park Avenue reported on Dec. 28 that a pair of packages was taken from their front porch.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE

- A resident in the 2024 Mini Cooper in the 300 block of 17th Street reported on Jan. 2 that their convertible top was cut, but nothing was stolen from inside.
- A resident in the 1600 block of Highland Avenue reported on Jan. 3 that white paint was splattered on their vehicle.
EGGINGS
- A resident in the 1600 block of Central Avenue reported that their home was egged on Jan. 2.
- A resident in the 2400 block of Cardinal Lane reported on Jan. 2 that someone threw eggs at their car.
ARRESTS
Burt C. Robinson Jr., 28, of the 1000 block of North Lamon Avenue, Chicago, and Tyshon T. McClure, 23, of the 5800 block of West Division Street, Chicago, were arrested on Dec. 31. Robinson was charged with robbery, retail theft, aggravated fleeing, resisting a peace officer and driving on a suspended license, as well as retail theft incidents on Dec. 26 and other cases involving Hillside and Westchester police. McClure was charged with robbery, retail theft, aggravated battery and resisting a peace officer.

Sean Jolie, 54, of the 1200 block of Oak Avenue, Evanston, was arrested on Dec. 31 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after being stopped near the 1500 block of Lake Avenue.
Jatari Triplett, 23, of the 4600 block of Dobson Street, Skokie, was arrested on Dec. 30 and charged with possession of cannabis with intent to deliver after police found multiple bags of cannabis that were not packaged from a licensed dispensary during a traffic stop in the 1200 block of Wilmette Avenue.
Samuel E. McLaughlin, 38, of the 600 block of Hinman Avenue, Evanston, was arrested on Jan. 5 and charged with trespassing after returning to an unspecified business in the 1100 block of Wilmette Avenue despite a prior warning. He was also charged with burglary after being found stealing food and items from an unspecified store in the 700 block of Green Bay Road. He was also charged by authorities in Winnetka after allegedly trespassing at the Winnetka Community House, 620 Lincoln Avenue.

INCIDENTS
STOLEN CAR
Someone stole an unlocked rental car that had been left with the keys inside while parked in the driveway of a home in the 400 block of Sheridan Road between 1 a.m. on Dec. 29 and 10 a.m. on Dec. 30. The car had not been recovered at the time of the report.
