Wilmette Man Charged With Child Pornography Possession: Police

WILMETTE, IL — A 20-year-old Wilmette man faces multiple felony charges after police said that he was found to have various images and videos depicting child pornography in his possession, Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart announced on Monday.

Owen Taylor, who lives in the 700 block of 10th Street, was arrested last week after Cook County Sheriff’s deputies were alerted to a tip they received from the National Center For Missing and Exploited Children about images of pornographic images of children under the age of 13 found a file holding account, police said.

Investigators determined that the images were on Taylor’s cell phone after the account was traced back to Taylor.

The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office on Friday approved charges against Taylor stemming from possession of child pornography, possession of video involving a victim under the age of 13, and possession of child pornography involving a victim under the age of 13.

Taylor appeared in court on Friday and was released with conditions, officials said. He will appear in court at a later date on the charges.
